Pandora Papers, Malaysia Madani among issues to be raised in parliament

THE Pandora Papers investigation, the Malaysia Madani concept, and the redevelopment of Kampung Baru in Kuala Lumpur are among issues to be raised at the Dewan Rakyat sitting today. 

According to the Order Paper on the parliament website, these questions will be answered by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during the Minister’s Question Time. 

Noraini Ahmad (Parit Sulong-BN) will ask Anwar to state the government’s stance on the Pandora Papers and follow-up actions by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Bank Negara Malaysia, and the police. 

Ahmad Fadhil Shaari (Pasir Mas-PN) will ask about the model adopted in the establishment of the Malaysia Madani concept and the extent to which it is applied in the government’s administrative system and current policies. 

Azli Yusof (Shah Alam-PH) will enquire whether the government plans to continue with the comprehensive redevelopment of Kampung Baru as done by the federal territories minister under the Pakatan Harapan government from 2018 to 2020.  

For the questions for oral answers session, R. Ramanan (Sungai Buloh-PH) will ask the transport minister to state whether the number of feeder buses and their routes will be increased for public use. 

Aminolhuda Hassan (Sri Gading-PH) will ask the foreign minister about measures taken to ensure the safety of Malaysian victims of overseas scams, especially in Myanmar. 

Ismail Abd Mutalib (Maran-PN) will ask the health minister about the government’s actions to prevent the migration of doctors and the number of contract doctors who have not been given permanent positions. 

After the question-and-answer session, Dewan Rakyat members will continue the debate session on the motion of thanks on the royal address. 

The current Dewan Rakyat will sit for 29 days until March 30. – Bernama, February 21, 2023.
