SELECTED groups will be entitled to subscribe to the Unity Package Fixed Internet Broadband plan for RM69 per month, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said.

He said the plan, which will come into effect in March, will come with unlimited data and internet speed up to 30Mbps.

“The plan will be offered for those in the B40 group, army and police veterans, people with disabilities, and senior citizens.

“The plan will come with a 24-month contract,” the Lembah Pantai MP said in a statement today.

Fahmi said the package costs 22% less than packages available in the market, which are usually priced around RM89.

“This means people can save as much as RM480 throughout the contract period,” he said.

Fahmi said the initiative was undertaken in collaboration with most major fixed broadband service providers, namely, Telekom Malaysia, CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, YTL, TIME, and Astro.

The PKR lawmaker said the initiative is in line with the government’s desire to reduce the people’s burdens.

“This is an indicator that the unity government and service providers pay attention to the needs and welfare of the people, and continue to work to ensure there is more comprehensive digital connectivity at a lower price in line with the Malaysia Madani concept,” he added.

In December 2022, Fahmi unveiled the Unity Package mobile prepaid plan that offered 30GB of 3Mbps mobile data for RM30. – February 2, 2023.
