ISA Samad has not denied a deputy minister’s statement that the former Felda chairman had signed a power of attorney (PA) letter, transferring ownership of the agency’s Jalan Semarak land.
Isa was chairman of the agency from 2011 to January last year.
He was also chairman of plantation unit Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd from January 2011 to last June, and Felda Investment Corporation from 2013 to last year.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Razali Ibrahim earlier today told Parliament that the transfer of the Felda property in Jalan Semarak for the development of the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City was signed by the agency’s former chairman and general manager.
Razali, who was answering a question from PKR MP Fauzi Abdul Rahman on the matter, said he is revealing the information without the intention of pointing fingers at anyone.
The Muar MP said the case is still under forensic auditing, adding that 240 documents, including board meeting minutes, have been seized as part of investigations.
He said the probe has led to many findings and recommendations.
Last December, it was found that ownership of the 66,000 sq m land in Jalan Semarak had been transferred to a private developer in 2015 without the knowledge of the Felda board.
In a series of dubious transactions, Felda had handed over PA to the firm to develop the land, estimated to be worth RM1 billion, leading to the transfer of the land title.
Last week, Felda confirmed that it has regained possession of all the 16 lots in Jalan Semarak that had been transferred to Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd. – March 12, 2018.
