NURUAL Izzah Anwar suffered a miscarriage recently while travelling for work between Penang and Putrajaya.

The former Permatang Pauh MP revealed this on Facebook today.

“The little boot is gone. Surely, we belong to Allah and verily to Him do we return,” she wrote.

She also offered support to those who have experienced a similar tragedy.

“And the splendour of joy and happiness – it lurks in every corner – whether it’s the smiles of Safiyah, Harith and Yu Zhou – or in the warm embrace of my own papa and mama, every moment counts.

“Healing is a journey – and if you need to take some time to breathe in the moment – just do it before the next chapter in life begins anew,” she said.

The 42-year-old shared a photograph of her being consoled by her father, who is Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and her mother, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Nurul Izzah married Yin Shao Loong, a senior research associate at Khazanah Research Institute, in August last year.She has three children from her previous marriage.

Ministers Steven Sim, Hannah Yeoh and Sim Tze Tzin have conveyed their condolences.
