THE Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) anticipates a monsoon surge from tomorrow until January 23, with possible continuous rainfall in Johor, Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu. 

MetMalaysia director-general Muhammad Helmi Abdullah in a statement today said the department has issued a continuous rain warning (January 19 to 22) for those states. 

“Thunderstorms and heavy rain with strong winds are expected in the interior and west of the peninsula, central and western Sarawak, and western Sabah in the afternoon and early evening during the period,” he said. 

He also said strong winds and rough sea warnings until January 23 have been issued for the South China Sea.
