LAWYER Siti Kasim has been called by police to give her statement on the “Dark Forces Towards GE15” forum she attended last year.
Siti said lawyer Ambiga Sreenevasan and veteran DAP leader Lim Kit Siang have also been called by Bukit Aman to give their statements on January 19.
“I don’t know why they (police) want to take our statements. We didn’t say anything seditious,” she told The Malaysian Insight.
She said lawyer Rajsurian Pillai will be accompanying her to Bukit Aman.
Last October, police said they will be questioning former attorney-general Tommy Thomas for comments he made about racial issues at the forum.
Secretary to the police Noorsiah Saaduddin has said officers would also be questioning Parti Sosialis Malaysia chairman Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj.
It was reported that police have launched an investigation after Thomas told the forum that the opposition should tell the public a “Malay government” had failed.
He had urged the opposition to get voters to ask themselves whether a “Malay government” had made the country better and more efficient. – January 12, 2023.
