Mavcom must do its job to protect consumers

I REFER to your article dated January 10, 2023 entitled “Mavcom orders airlines to improve flight disruption management”.

I am puzzled and disappointed by Mavcom’s response to the recurring issues experienced by passengers over the airlines’ flight disruption management.

One of Mavcom’s functions as laid out in the Malaysian Aviation Commission Act 2015 (Act 771) is to provide a mechanism for the protection of consumers. Mavcom cannot just tell the airlines to improve themselves. Is that all Mavcom can say?

It is Mavcom’s obligation to take action against the airlines over their handling of flight delays and cancellations and failure to fulfil their obligations under the law. – January 11, 2023.

  • If Mavcom role is just to hit the wrist and tell these idiots to buckup, might as well shut down Mavcom! It's a habit to setup these and that entity to fulfill some global requirements but they behave if a body without tooth. It's best passengers lodge complaint to the Police or Consumers department.....Shutdown Mavcom!!!!!
