UMNO paid an opposition party millions of ringgit to break up Pakatan Rakyat, said Amanah president Mohammad Sabu.
“After GE13, Barisan Nasional wanted to break up Pakatan Rakyat.
“Umno paid millions to one party to sever ties,” he said during his speech at Pakatan Rakyat’s manifesto launch.
Mohammad or better known as Mat Sabu, did not mention any party’s name but alluded to PAS.
“PAS severed ties with DAP and then PKR. We formed Pakatan Harapan with only three parties DAP, PKR and Amanah,” he said.
The former PAS man was thankful Bersatu, led by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, was formed as this caused a big split in Umno.
“We were disunited and weak. But then something happened.
“With Allah’s grace, Bersatu was born. That has brought about a bigger split in Umno,” said Mat Sabu. – March 8, 2018.
