VOTEMALAYSIA UK and Eire have collected 6,932 ballots, which are now on the way to Malaysia.

The coalition of student bodies said it collected all the ballots yesterday.

Two representatives from VoteMalaysia are flying the ballots home on a flight that departed from London’s Heathrow Airport at 10:25 UKT (6.30am Malaysian time) today.

It said upon arrival in Malaysia, the votes will be handed over to Undi18 and the United Kingdom & Ireland Malaysian Law Students’ Union.

The ballots will then be sent to the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall, where they will be sorted and distributed to all parliamentary and state seats.

Over the past three months, VoteMalaysia has shouldered the daunting responsibility of ensuring all Malaysians in the UK and Ireland are fully aware of their democratic right to vote and are able to cast their ballots in an accessible manner.

The coalition opened booths to help people register as postal voters and conducted postal voting workshops.

It has opened 58 ballot collection points in 51 cities across the UK and Ireland.

The coalition said its initiative was started by students, driven by students and delivered by students for Malaysia and its people. – November 17, 2022.
