Govt to set up 13 job centres nationwide

TO help the unemployed with finding work, the government will develop 13 MYFutureJobs satellite centres in urban transformation centres (UTCs) nationwide with an allocation of RM8 million, Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said in the Dewan Rakyat today. 

In tabling Budget 2023, the finance minister the Human Resources Development Corp and Socso would also establish a national placement centre in the Klang Valley as a one-stop shop to help people get jobs.

He also said that Socso will increase the number of employment service case managers.

“The government will also provide special assistance in financing the appointment of private lawyers to assist claimants in the handling of judicial review applications at the Malaysian Consumer Claims Tribunal.”

Tengku Zafrul also said there are plans to establish two new UTCs with RM20 million in funding. 

He also said that the government through the Malaysia Digital Economy Corp will spearhead efforts to transform UTCs as digital hubs. – October 7, 2022.
