MALAYSIA logged 1,483 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, up from the 1,244 reported the day before.

The latest cases take the total confirmed infections in the country since the pandemic began to 4,846,592.

There were five fatalities, of which one was brought in dead.

Of the new cases, Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 375 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (338) and Perak (128).

Sabah reported 118 cases, followed by Sarawak (91), Kedah (73), Malacca (73), Penang (69), Negri Sembilan (51), Kelantan (46), Johor (37), Pahang (35), Putrajaya (23), Terengganu (18), Perlis (5) and Labuan (3).

The GitHub database showed that four deaths were reported in Selangor while Sabah reported one death.

The death toll now stands at 36,385.

There are currently 957 Covid-19 patients in hospital, with 19 in intensive care and 23 on ventilators. – October 5, 2022.
