CONTROVERSIAL lawmaker Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said today his six-year suspension from Umno was not a “death sentence” and that he would remain loyal to the party.

“The suspension isn’t a death sentence. What’s the issue?” the Pasir Salak MP and former Umno Supreme Councillor said during question time in parliament this morning, following opposition taunts that he wouldn’t be a candidate at the next general election.

Tajuddin and Alor Star Umno division chief Mohd Yusof Ismail were suspended from the party last Friday, following a Supreme Council meeting.

Yusof said he did not why he had been suspended or for how long, adding that he had only been informed verbally.

However, party sources said the men were suspended for dissent against the Umno leadership. – October 3, 2022.
