FELDA settlers, especially in Pekan, should punish Prime Minister Najib Razak for the crisis the government agency is embroiled in, said Persatuan Anak Peneroka Felda Kebangsaan (Anak) president Mazlan Aliman.
He hoped there would be a repeat of the 12th general election result – which saw Najib only win the Pekan seat by a margin of 241 votes.
“The Pekan voters should punish Najib. If he came close to losing in 1999, this time he would surely lose and PH would take over Pekan,” Mazlan said in his speech to Felda settlers at a ceramah in Chini 2, Pekan.
Najib came close to losing Pekan in 1999 to PAS candidate Ramli Mohamed when he polled 13,148 votes to Ramli’s 12,907 votes.

Mazlan also said Najib is ruining his father, Abdul Razak’s legacy of having fought hard to form Felda.
“His father championed Felda. His father fought with the communist to form Felda. But the son has squandered millions.”
On a national level, Mazlan said Felda settlers make up 54 constituencies and they should vote the other against Barisan Nasional in the next general election for a change in the government.
“Felda is a Malay institution. If the settlers change their minds, it could swing the election for the opposition,” he said.
Mazlan also promised if PH takes over Putrajaya, individual Felda settlers debts would be reduced by 50%. – February 28, 2018.
