PAKATAN Harapan has decided its four member parties will contest the 14th general election under one logo since the Registrar of Societies (RoS) still has not made a decision on its status.

The pact’s chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the presidential council decided to go ahead with a single logo at its meeting today, but did not reveal which party’s logo will be used.

Dr Mahathir said all four PH parties – PKR, Bersatu, DAP and Amanah – were ready to use the same symbol.

“Whether (RoS) approves or not, we will use one logo as our identity in the elections. We cannot announce yet (which logo it will be).

“We can use the symbol of any of our four parties.

“Unless, RoS becomes generous. (They are) so frightened of us they haven’t approved (us),” he said at a press conference after the PH presidential council meeting in Petaling Jaya today.

PH submitted its application to be registered with the RoS last July but has not received any confirmation of its status.

On February 22, Bersatu, which is also chaired by Dr Mahathir, filed an originating summons at the Kuala Lumpur High Court seeking the RoS’ declaration on the party’s status.

It also asked for an injunction to prevent the RoS from making any statements about the party.

Dr Mahathir said the party was waiting for a response to the injunction this week, adding that the matter would be brought to court this Thursday. – February 27, 2018.
