Covid-19 cases fall to 3,927

MALAYSIA reported 3,927 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, down from 4,413 cases the day before, the Health Ministry said.

Data on CovidNow website showed that there were six deaths, of which three were dead on arrival.

Active cases now stand at 44,843, while the virus has claimed 36,009 people since the onset of the pandemic.

Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 1,052 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (981) and Perak (324).

Sabah reported 315 cases, Penang (232), Negri Sembilan (231), Johor (128), Kedah (121), Malacca (155), Sarawak (99), Putrajaya (96), Pahang (93), Kelantan (49), Terengganu (32), Perlis (12) and Labuan (7).

The GitHub database showed that two fatalities each were reported in Kedah and Negri Sembilan, while Malacca and Kuala Lumpur reported one death each.

There are currently 1,587 Covid-19 hospitalisations with 14 people in the intensive care unit, while 38 require respiratory assistance. – August 6, 2022.
