JAMAL Yunos was today ordered to pay Seputeh MP Teresa Kok RM350,000 in damages and costs after the DAP lawmaker won a defamation suit against the Sungai Besar Umno division chief .

The Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled on the amounts this morning after Jamal failed to prove his defence,

Kok sued Jamal in 2017 for saying she and other opposition leaders had misappropriated funds belonging to Yayasan Arisan Anak Selangor (Yawas) under the Skim Mesra Usia Emas initiative.

Jamal was reported to have been absent from court today when Judge Mohd Arief Emran Arifin delivered his decision. – July 26, 2022.
