THE Malaysian Bar will be organising its Walk for Judicial Independence tomorrow, with lawyers marching from Padang Merbok to the Parliament building.
The Bar said the march would start at 10am.
The peaceful assembly is to protest against the interference with the independence of the Judiciary, and breaches of the fundamental principle of separation of powers.
This included the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s criminal investigation of a Court of Appeal judge.
The decision to hold the peaceful assembly was agreed at the Bar’s Extraordinary General Meeting on May 27. – June 16, 2022.
