MALAYSIA reported 2,166 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, taking the cumulative number of infections to 4,523,018, the Health Ministry reported.

The CovidNow website showed Selangor recorded the highest amount of infections with 918, followed by Kuala Lumpur (487) and Penang (152). 

Other states and territories that reported infections were Perak (113), Negri Sembilan (88), Sabah (87), Putrajaya (60), Johor (57), Malacca (54), Kedah (51), Sarawak (47), Pahang (28), Kelantan (15), Terengganu (6), Perlis (2) and Labuan (1). 

The GitHub data showed that one virus death was posted yesterday, in Negri Sembilan. 

Malaysia has marked 35,709 Covid-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The fatality rate stood at 0.3% and the cumulative fatality rate, at 0.8%. – June 11, 2022.
