FARHASH Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak is calling for a forensic audit after losing the fight for the Gombak PKR division chief’s post to Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.

The former Perak PKR chairman expressed his doubt about the transparency and truthfulness of the outcome announced after examining the unofficial results of the PKR 2022 elections.

“My team has strong evidence and documentation to express formal objections, with calls for the party to conduct a forensic audit on the decision process and its implementation methods,” he said in a post on Facebook.

“Our objection is to the results of the physical voting as well as the online voting, in which we found the results for the Gombak branch to be unreasonable.”

This, he said, was compared to the physical presence of their supporters as well as the online voting that they recorded.

The unofficial tally showed that Amirudin has garnered 1,858 votes against Farhash’s 1,215.

“A forensic report examining online and physical voting to be conducted by an independent body agreed to by all parties,” Farhash said.

“I hope the committee and party leadership will take appropriate action and rectify the situation if it is proved that the electoral system and results have been compromised.”

Earlier today, PKR election committee chairman Zaliha Mustafa said the party’s polls for the 2022-2025 term had officially ended and the results would be announced next month.

She said the elections ended today following re-voting in 12 divisions in five states, namely Kedah, Terengganu, Sabah, Selangor and Kelantan.

She said the unofficial election results from all divisions will be posted on the PKR website from today.

“The official results will be announced at the PKR congress, which will held on June 25 and 26. All decisions are final,” she said in a statement.

The Gombak division chief’s post was formerly held by PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, who defected to Bersatu in 2020 following the Sheraton Move. – May 29, 2022.
