2,021 new Covid cases, 3 deaths

MALAYSIA reported 2,021 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 4.49 million infections since the pandemic started. 

Three deaths were also reported.

Active cases now stand at 28,085, while total fatalities are at 35,641. 

Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 878 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (345) and Penang (126).

Negri Sembilan reported 125 infections, Malacca (108), Perak (98), Johor (85), Kedah (57), Putrajaya (55), Sarawak (52), Sabah (41), Pahang (25), Terengganu (12), Kelantan (11), Perlis (2) and Labuan (1). 

The GitHub database showed that two deaths were reported in Johor while one was reported in Pahang.

A total of 1,048 patients are hospitalised with Covid-19, with 15 in intensive care units, and 24 on ventilators. – May 22, 2022.
