MALAYSIA recorded a slight dip in new Covid-19 cases at 3,029 infections yesterday, compared to 3,410 cases a day earlier.
According to the CovidNow website, the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic stood at 4,473,500 cases.
Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 1,286 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (501) and Penang (229).
Negeri Sembilan logged 208 new cases, Perak (175), Johor (126), Sarawak (57), Malacca (108), Putrajaya (88), Kedah (61), Pahang (58), Sabah (78), Terengganu (23), Kelantan (21), Perlis (8) and Labuan (3).
The Health Ministry reported five Covid-19 deaths yesterday, bringing the total death toll to 35,607.
One was dead on arrival.
Two of the fatalities occurred in Selangor and one each in Perak, Penang and Sabah.
The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units (ICU) stood at 42, of which 33 required respiratory support. β May 14, 2022.
