3,471 new Covid-19 cases, 6 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded a slight increase in new Covid-19 cases at 3,471 new cases, compared with 3,361 a day earlier.  

This brings the total number of cases to 4.4 million.

According to the CovidNow website, Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 1,915 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (429) and Penang (188).

The others are Johor (124), Sarawak (104), Kedah (104), Kelantan (42), Pahang (48), Perak (142), Sabah (40), Terengganu (14), Malacca (149), Labuan (5), Perlis (10), Putrajaya (37) and Negri Sembilan (120). 

The Health Ministry also reported six Covid-19 deaths yesterday, down from 13 previously, bringing the toll of fatalities to 35,526.

Four cases were classified as dead on arrival.  

Selangor recorded the highest number of deaths at three, followed by one each in Johor, Malacca and Penang.

There were no deaths in the other states and in the federal territories.

As of midnight, there were 58,436 active cases.

A total of 1,501 people were hospitalised, with 98 in intensive care units and 63 requiring respiratory assistance. – April 28, 2022.
