RAMADAN bazaar stall owners in Selangor are typically being fined for failing to display clear price tags and using uncalibrated weighing scales, according to Selangor Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry director Muhamad Zikril Azan Abdullah.

He said the two offences were among 80 cases since Op Pantau began on April 3.

“Therefore, we will work more closely with the local authorities supervising Ramadan bazaar sites to inform traders on the regulations set.

“Other than Ramadan bazaars, Op Pantau also involves inspections of wet markets, supermarkets and retail outlets,” he said in Kuala Selangor today.

Muhamad Zikril Azan said almost 9,400 premises had been inspected so far, seizing RM81,000 worth of goods and compound notices totalling RM23,000. – Bernama, April 27, 2022.
