Malaysia logs 4,006 new Covid cases, lowest since Jan 24

MALAYSIA yesterday continued to see a decline in daily Covid-19 cases as new infections dropped to 4,006, the lowest since January 24.   

Health director-general Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah eight Covid-19 deaths were logged.

The death toll stood at 35,499.

Total infections reach 4,431,073 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The Klang Valley contributed 2,792 of the new cases, 2,281 pf them in Selangor, 439 in Kuala Lumpur, and 72 in Putrajaya.

Negeri Sembilan reported 261 cases, Penang (179), Perak (170), Sarawak (112), Johor (111), Kedah (105), Malacca (87), Putrajaya (72), Pahang (65), Sabah (60), Terengganu (35), Kelantan (20), Perlis (7) and Labuan (2)

Selangor reported two of yesterday’s deaths , Johor (1), Malacca (1), Pahang (1), Sarawak (1), Terengganu (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).

The fatality rate stood at 0.0% and the cumulative fatality rate, 0.8%. – April 25, 2022.
