DAILY Covid-19 infections dipped to 6,069 yesterday compared to 7,140 the day before.

Twelve deaths from infection were reported, one of which were dead on arrival, the CovidNow website showed. The virus death toll reached 35,449.

Active cases of infection stood at 92,039.  There have been 4.2 million recoveries.

Selangor logged the highest number of infections at 3,180,  followed by Kuala Lumpur (830) and Negri Sembilan (470).

Perak reported 265 new cases , Penang (237), Malacca (225), Johor (179), Sarawak (160), Kedah (124), Terengganu (124), Pahang (90), Sabah (79), Kelantan (49), Putrajaya (47), Perlis (6) and Labuan 4.

The GitHub database showed Perak reported the highest number of coronavirus deaths with five. Three deaths were reported in Johor and one each was in Kedah, Malacca, Pahang and Putrajaya.

There were 1,988 people in hospital with Covid, 97 of them in intensive care. Sixty-four were intubated. – April 20, 2022.
