4 killed in South Kalimantan building collapse

FOUR people were killed after a three-storey convenience store collapsed on yesterday   afternoon in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan.

The Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said nine people have been rescued and taken to several hospitals.

Basarnas received the report at 5.50pm central Indonesian time that a building had fallen and 13 people were trapped under the debris.

Rescue operations began thereafter at the site, leading to the recovery of all victims from the rubble and which ended today at 9.35am.

An investigation into the cause of the collapse by police forensic team is currently underway. – Bernama, April 19, 2022.
