MALAYSIA recorded 370 Covid-19 hospital admissions yesterday, of which more than 60% involved category 1 and 2 patients, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
There were 224 hospitalisations (60.5%) involving categories 1 and 2, and 146 involving categories 3, 4 and 5.
With this, 2,281 people are currently being treated for Covid-19 in hospitals.
There are 152 patients in intensive care units (ICU), with 87 on ventilators.
Noor Hisham said the ventilator use nationwide stands at 10%.
The national intensive care unit usage stood at 18% as of yesterday while the ICU usage in all states and territories remained below 50%.
Of the 9,673 new infections reported yesterday, Noor Hisham said 48 cases were in categories 3, 4 and 5.
Meanwhile, the infectivity rate stood at 0.82. β April 16, 2022.
