7,739 new virus infections, 19 deaths

Malaysia has a caseload of 134,469 coronavirus infections, as of yesterday. – The Malaysian Insight filepic, April 12, 2022.

DAILY coronavirus infections in Malaysia continued to drop yesterday, to 7,739 compared to 8,112 the day before.

The CovidNow website showed that there were 19 virus deaths, three of which were dead on arrival cases.

Active cases stood at 134,469 while the death toll reached 35,311.

Selangor reported the highest number of new infections with 4,444, followed by Johor (494) and Negri Sembilan (472).

Other states and territories with new Covid-19 cases were Kuala Lumpur (440), Perak (357), Penang (305), Kedah (300),Terengganu (262), Sarawak (178), Kelantan (133), Pahang (114), Malacca (105), Sabah (65), Putrajaya (33), Perlis (23) and Labuan (10).

According to the GitHub database, Selangor logged the highest number of deaths by infection, at four.

Johor, Kedah, Pahang, Perak, Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur logged two deaths each and Malacca, Penang and Terengganu, one each.

There were 2,794 people hospitalised with Covid, 174 of them in intensive care, 102 of them on respiratory support. – April 12, 2022.
