MALAYSIA posted 24,316 Covid-19 infections yesterday, an increase from the previous day’s 22,491 cases.
The country has logged daily cases totalling more than 20,000 since February due to the Omicron wave.
The CovidNow website showed that there were 64 deaths, of which 18 were dead on arrival.
The death toll amounted to 34,644.
Active cases in the country stood at 247,603. There have been 3.7 million recoveries.
The GitHub database showed Selangor led the daily tally with 11,692 new infections.
Other states that reported cases are Johor (986), Kedah (1,252), Kelantan (436), Malacca (594), Negeri Sembilan (888), Pahang (631), Perak (1,324), Perlis (90), Penang (1,577), Sabah (436), Sarawak (1,400), Terengganu (430), Kuala Lumpur (2,425), Labuan (71), and Putrajaya (84).
Johor logged the highest number of fatalities with 11 deaths, followed by Perak (9) and Selangor and Kedah (8) each.
Deaths were also reported in Malacca (5), Negri Sembilan, Pahang and Sarawak (4 each), Terengganu (3), Kelantan, Penang and Sabah (2 each) and Perlis and Kuala Lumpur (1 each).
Daily hospitalisations stood at 6,019, of which 331 were in intensive care, 194 of them on respiratory support. β March 25, 2022.
