NEW Covid-19 infections continued to show a downward trend in Malaysia, dropping to 19,105 yesterday.
The last time daily cases dipped below 20,000 was on February 10, when 19,090 infections were reported.
Seventy-one deaths were reported, of which 26 were dead on arrival.
Selangor reported the highest number of new cases with 6,761, followed by Penang (1,772) and Kuala Lumpur (1,659).
Other states that reported fresh infections were Johor (1,441), Kedah (1,113), Kelantan (518), Malacca (508), Negri Sembilan (885), Pahang (1,100), Perak (1,300), Perlis (90), Sabah (339), Sarawak (852), Terengganu (547), Labuan )87) and Putrajaya (133).
Kedah and Perak logged the highest number of virus-linked fatalities at 14 each.
Coronavirus deaths were also reported in Johor (11), Selangor (7), Kelantan, Penang, Sarawak (5) each, Negri Sembilan (4), Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur (2) each), and Malacca and Pahang (1) each.
There were 7,080 virus patients in hospital, 371 of them in intensive care, 203 of them on ventilators. β March 21, 2022.
