MALAYSIA continued to record a high number of Covid-19 cases yesterday with 27,808 infections, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
He said there were 36 virus-linked deaths, taking the Covid-19 death toll to 32,276. There was no dead on arrival cases yesterday.
Daily figures have ranged in the tens of thousands since the beginning of last week.
The total number of infections stood at 3,166,023.
Noor Hisham said 12,488 patients were recovered, taking the number of recoveries to 2,900,682.
He said 1,597 people were hospitalised yesterday with coronavirus, of whom 235 were in intensive care units (ICU) and that 132 of them required respiratory assistance.
The Health Ministry’s GitHub database showed that Selangor logged the highest number of cases with 6,064 infections, followed by Sabah (5,565) and Johor (2,716).
Kedah reported 2,537 infections, followed by Kelantan (1,722), Malacca (524), Negri Sembilan (1,712), Pahang (1,376), Perak (489), Perlis (205), Penang (2,088), Sarawak (390), Terengganu (538), Kuala Lumpur (1,339), Labuan (414), and Putrajaya (129). – February 19, 2022.
