MUDA’S Kedah information chief has been suspended from party activities over a poster attacking its allies Pakatan Harapan (PH) and PKR.
Muda’s national information chief Luqman Long said the poster – a cartoon insinuating PH and PKR giving and taking bribes to Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional – was posted on social media last night without approval.
“This post has clearly caused misunderstanding and is out of line with Muda’s principles.
“From discussions with Kedah Muda, we discovered that it was done without approval and with malicious intent.
“I have thus decided to suspend the Kedah information chief from all party activities. I also take full responsibility for this incident,” Luqman said in a statement today.
He also apologised and said he would face any disciplinary action against him as information chief.
The poster, which has gone viral and kicked up a storm of debate on Twitter, has now been deleted from social media.
It angered many as Muda was in the middle of seat negotiations with PH and PKR to contest the March 12 Johor elections.
Muda had already been given six seats by DAP (2) and Amanah (4), and is waiting to finalise three seats with PKR, according to Johor PKR chief Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh. – February 10, 2022.
