BERSATU will not pull the plug on the federal government, Muhyiddin Yassin said even as the party’s ties with Umno continues to deteriorate.
The Bersatu president said the party will not burden the people with holding polls in the midst of an epidemic.
“We do not want an election with the Omicron variant spreading rapidly through the country,” he said in a press conference today in the capital.
The Pagoh lawmaker said he is not a politician who is only interested in amassing power.
“We shouldn’t abuse our power at the expense of life,” he said.
He added that the focus of all parties right now should be on curbing the spread of Covid-19 and not withdrawing support for the federal government.
