MALAYSIA yesterday reported 16 new Covid-19 deaths, the Health Ministry said.

Two were dead on arrival (DOA). 

The death toll reached 31,808, among which were 6,417 DOA cases.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

The GitHub raw data repository showed Selangor topped the list of daily virus fatalities with five cases, followed by Terengganu (3), Negri Sembilan and Penang (2 each) and Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Sabah (1 each).

Active cases stood at 40,659, including 184 in intensive care, 87 of whom required respiratory assistance.

There were 2,907 reported recoveries. – January 18, 2022.
