THE dispute between Selangor PKR and Selangor Amanah will be solved soon and it is no longer an issue, said state Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali.
Tensions flared among Pakatan Harapan (PH) parties in Selangor, with accusations of lying thrown about in the yet to be resolved state seat negotiation as the 14th general election draws closer.
Selangor Amanah chairman Izham Hashim defended state Amanah communications director Jamzuri Ardani, who had said seat negotiations in the state had yet to take off as Azmin ignored calls for a special committee to be set up.
It was reported last week that seat talks in Selangor are in disarray as PKR was the only component party which insisted that formal negotiations have started, while its allies say a proper negotiations committee had not even been formed.
Azmin also publicly accused Amanah of lying after the party claimed talks had yet to begin.
He said negotiations had already taken place about four times and that the PH elections committee had been rebranded as the seat negotiations committee.
Izham said Azmin was the one who was lying, and the four meetings that were held only discussed polls-related matters but did not touch on seat distribution.
“He is lying. It’s impossible for three other parties to lie, and Azmin is the only one with a different statement. It’s like bringing Umno’s attitude into PH.”
PH chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad had earlier today expressed his confidence that the dispute between Amanah and PKR will be solved soon, Malaysiakini reported.
“We can solve it. They came to see me and explained what happened. They made an agreement to solve the problem but (they) need some time,” he said at Putrajaya today. β February 3, 2018.
