23 rivers in 6 states still flood threats, IGP says

TWENTY-THREE rivers have reached warning and dangerous levels in six flood-affected states, said Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani today.

He said these rivers are located in Pahang, Kelantan, Selangor, Malacca, Johor and Sarawak, according to an Irrigation and Drainage Department report as of 2.30am today.

Of the 23 rivers, 13 have reached dangerous levels, he added.

“The 13 rivers that have reached dangerous levels are nine in Pahang, two in Kelantan and one each in Selangor and Johor,” he told a press conference in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam, Selangor.
