Malaysia logs 5,439 new Covid-19 cases

MALAYSIA reported 5,439 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, said Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, of which only 21 are imported.

The fresh infections bring the total number of reported cases to 2.63 million.

The case breakdown according to states will be uploaded onto the CovidNow portal after midnight.

Of the fresh infections, 5,334 are in Categories 1 (asymptomatic) and 2 (mildly symptomatic), while 105 are in advanced stages of infection.

A total of 500 patients are in intensive care units, of which 258 are on ventilators.

The country also reported 6,803 recoveries, pushing the total number of recoveries to 2.54 million. – December 1, 2021.
