6,355 new Covid-19 cases

MALAYSIA reported 6,355 new Covid-19 infections as of noon today, up from 6,288 infections yesterday, Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

The country recorded its highest daily cases for the first time in three weeks last Friday, when 6,517 cases were reported.

The case breakdown according to states will be uploaded onto the CovidNow portal after midnight.

Noor Hisham said the infection rate (Rt) is currently at 1.02, down from yesterday’s 1.04.

The seven-day hospitalisation rate average reported a 3% increase, with hospital bed utilisation at 71% nationwide.

As of yesterday, 95.5% of the adult population have been vaccinated while 97.8% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

For adolescents, 81.1% have been fully inoculated while 87.3% have received at least one shot.

Population-wise, 76.4% of the total population have been fully vaccinated while 78.6% have received one dose. – November 19, 2021.
