LACK of proper education and knowledge among Malaysian leaders, be they in the ruling government or opposition, is the root cause of incompetent governance, Dr Syed Ali Tawfik Al-Attas, former director-general of the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (Ikim), said.
He told The Malaysian Insight this is why these leaders do not ask the right questions or provide solutions to the country’s myriad problems.

With all due respect Tuan Syed, this article caught me by surprise. And crawled under my skin.
Thought I agree with you on the points you've highlighted, sadly it wasn't on the major topics raised, instead I agree with comments about the Leadership (either side) come across clueless sometimes, furthermore, their "pakatan" when they actually got to office, was as meaningful in translation to me, as the current 'KeluargaMalaysia'.
Anyhow Tuan Syed, thanks to technology and innovation, we have many videos of Tuanku Abdul Rahman, from the videos that is still very much in circulation thru YouTube and Social Feeds, showing anyone that may not have been there, nevertheless, could deduce that Tuanku Abdul Rahman was loved and close to the rakyat's heart.
I raise that, because though I may have my opinions about our current leaders today, and I could form a rather "poorly un-researched" opinion about you as well, however Tuan Syed ........what I can't - and won't do, is have any opinion towards their constituents! The voters that voted them there.
I understand, we can debate about Langkah Sheraton and the Fat Frogs in the context of "the people's vote"
But your recommendation, asserts that only the "educated and learned should lead", has many fallacies in itself, but I'm not going down that route, instead I would like to motivate and support you Tuan Syed, I think you should go into politics, all you need to do now, is win the hearts and minds of your potential voters, because mere words to criticize individuals, many on both sides are brilliant & passionate people, that have slogged for their constituents, and still turn up, is stuck today......in actuality because of the past, and that's not addressed.
But, I feel Tuan Syed, you can't turn up as a "Bebas" candidate, many don't know you exist. Neither did I actually. So if you want the people to vote, you'll need to TURUN PADANG! Then you can share your entire plan to the Rskyat, and what you see is the GOLDEN BULLET.
There's just too many keyboard warrior's these days, and pathetic incompetent journalists that have forgotten the role and the importance they play in Nation Building or Re-shaping.
It's okay! The ones that don't adapt and accept change, and learn to have some humility, respect and compassion for humanity, will truly be left behind. That goes out to EVERYONE. Rgds
