Sarawak logs 22 Covid-19 deaths, no new cases from active clusters

SARAWAK registered 22 Covid-19 deaths between October 7 and yesterday, but no new cases from its 36 active clusters, said the state Disaster Management Committee today.

The committee said seven of the 22 deaths were dead on arrival cases, adding that the youngest victim was a 34-year-old man who did not have any history of serious health issues and was brought in dead to Sarikei hospital on October 18.

The oldest victim was an 86-year-old woman from Miri, who died on October 22. She, too, did not have any history of serious health issues.

The state registered 713 new Covid-19 cases today, of which 696 are under Categories 1 (no symptom) and 2 (mild symptom).

There are two cases under Category 3 (lung infection), seven under Category 4 (lung infection and need breathing aid) and eight under Category 5 (lung infection and need a ventilator).

Districts that recorded triple-digit infections today are Kuching (206) and Miri (142). – October 26, 2021.
