THE Johor Baru City Council will conduct a joint operation with the police to ensure that the Stulang Laut beach, which is a recreational attraction, does not become a spot for alcohol drinking activities.

Mayor Mohd Noorazam Osman said this has been a problem for a long time and the beach is often littered with garbage as well as alcohol-drinkers urinating there, making tourists uncomfortable.

“Drinking liquor in the area is an offence, and we can reprimand or detain offenders if they refuse to listen to the instructions of the authorities. So, with the joint operation with the police, we want to ensure that the Stulang Laut beach is not a place to drink alcohol,” he said.

After the Let’s Beautify Stulang Laut Beach gotong-royong programme today, Noorazam told reporters that the public should cooperate and have the awareness to ensure the place is always safe and clean. – Bernama, October 23, 2021.
