88.8% adults fully vaccinated against Covid

MALAYSIA has vaccinated nearly 90% of adults against Covid-19 after jabbing 209,907 people yesterday.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, 113,441 of yesterday’s shots were first doses and 96,466, second doses.

More than 45 million doses have been administered under the vaccination campaign which was rolled out on February 24.

In the Klang Valley, 111.9% (6,896,396) of adults are fully inoculated. 

Sabah remains the state with the lowest vaccination rate at 63.3 % (1,745,589) of its adult population.

The CovidNow website tracker projects that 100% of the adult population will be fully vaccinated by October 26.

It said 61.5% or 1.9 million adolescents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 4.1% or 129,152 are fully vaccinated.

Eighty per cent of adolescents are expected to be fully vaccinated by November 2. 

The Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines are administered for children aged 12 to 17. – October 7, 2021.
