THERE were 851 new Covid-19 cases admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) in the last 24 hours, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
The health director-general said that out of the total, 815 were confirmed Covid-19 cases, while 36 were suspected cases and cases under investigation.
Noor Hisham said there were 395 patients requiring respiratory assistance.
Similarly, 332 of these patients were confirmed Covid-19 cases, while 63 were believed to have contracted the virus or are cases under investigation.
Meanwhile, there were 15,615 recoveries recorded, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,131,636 cases.
Malaysia recorded 8,817 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
Out of that number, 8,635 cases were in category 1 (asymptomatic) or category 2 (mild symptoms).
A total of 182 cases were in categories 3, 4, or 5, the more serious stages of infection.
There were 14 new clusters reported today, of which 10 were from the workplace, two from the community, one in the high-risk group and one from the education sector. β October 5, 2021.
