NOTHING has been agreed on the seat allocations between Pakatan Harapan and Parti Warisan Sabah, said state opposition chief Christina Liew, dismissing earlier reports that Warisan will be offered 60% of the seats in the 14th general election.

“There is no fixed formula yet. Nothing has been decided,” said Liew.

She was responding to a statement by her deputy, Sabah DAP chairman Stephen Wong, that Warisan will get 60% of the state seats, following a visit by PH deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin to Sabah recently.

Such matters should be discussed behind closed doors, before it is made public, she said.

“The statement issued by the deputy chairman of PH Sabah, Stephen Wong, was not part of the official press conference with Muhyiddin.

“The press conference was about election preparations. No specific issue was touched on seat allocations,” Liew said in Penampang today.

She added that PH had sent an official invitation to Warisan president Shafie Apdal yesterday to attend talks on seat negotiations.

As for now, PH is trying to complete the seat negotiations among its component parties – PKR, DAP, Amanah and Bersatu. The deadline is January 31.

“We agree that the negotiations must take into account all factors as suggested by (Warisan deputy president) Darell Leiking.

“The key is the winning strategy, not rigid ratio.” – January 25, 2018.
