Covid-19 ICU cases dip to 1,058

COVID-19 cases in intensive care units (ICU) dipped to 1,058 from 1,071 yesterday, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today. 

Of this, 850 were confirmed for Covid-19 while 208 were probable cases, he said.

He added that 580 of them were on ventilator support with 365 confirmed for Covid-19 while 215 were suspected cases. 

Recoveries continued to outnumber new cases after 20,971 people recovered from Covid-19 while 13,104 people tested positive for the coronavirus.

Only eight of the new cases reported today were imported. 

Most of today’s cases, or 12,903, were in category one (asymptomatic) or category two (mild symptoms) while 201 were in categories three, four and five (more advanced stages of infection).

Noor Hisham also said there were 12 new clusters, bringing the active clusters in the country to 1,185. – September 26, 2021.
