THERE were 1,049 active Covid-19 patients admitted in intensive care units as of noon today, which is a slight decline from yesterday’s 1,107, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said. 

Khairy said this consisted of confirmed, suspected and probable cases. 

A total of 599 of them were on ventilator support. 

Recoveries continued to outnumber new cases after 16,751 people recovered from Covid-19 while 14,554 people tested positive for the coronavirus. 

Only nine of the new cases reported today were imported. 

The majority of today’s cases or 14,391, were in category 1 (asymptomatic) or 2 (mild symptoms) while 163 were in categories 3, 4, or 5. 

Khairy also reported 20 new clusters, which brings the active cluster count in the country to 1,250. – September 24, 2021.
