CATEGORY 3 Covid-19 patients and those in Category 2b considered high risk will be admitted to low-risk quarantine centres, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said today.

He said this will allow hospitals to free up space.

“We will admit all Category 3 and 2b patients to quarantine centres, after risk assessments, to allow states to free up capacity at hospitals,” Khairy said.

According to Khairy, states have been instructed to provide pulse oximeters to people in home quarantine if the patient is in the “at risk” category.

A category 2 infection is classified as mildly symptomatic and the person is subject to home quarantine, while Category 3 – when the patient displays symptoms of pneumonia – requires hospitalisation. – September 9, 2021.
