THE national Covid-19 caseload crossed the 1.8 million mark today with the addition of 19,378 new infections.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said as of today, a cumulative total of 1,805,382 Covid-19 cases have been reported in the country since the start of the pandemic.
Selangor, Malaysia’s most populous state, continues to top the daily infection tally with 3,613 cases, while three other states reported more than 2,000 cases.
The three states are Sabah (2,404 cases), Johor (2,331 cases), and Sarawak (2,464 cases).
Other states and federal territories that reported new Covid-19 cases today are Kuala Lumpur (740 cases), Kedah (1,470 cases), Negri Sembilan (270 cases), Penang (1,726 cases), Kelantan (1,356 cases), Perak (1,389 cases), Melaka (399 cases), Pahang (559 cases), Terengganu (532 cases), Putrajaya (41 cases), and Perlis (80 cases).
The region with the lowest case count is Labuan with only four cases.
Labuan also has the highest full vaccination rate with 63,663 people or 92.9% of its adult population having received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, 35.51 million doses of jabs have been administered under the national Covid-19 vaccination drive as of yesterday.
Data show that 20,115,233 people, or 85.9% of the country’s adult population, have received their first shot while 15,429,300 people or 65.9% have completed their second dose. – September 3, 2021.
