DAILY Covid-19 cases dipped to 19,268 today after remaining above the 20,000 mark for six days.

Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the fresh cases bring the national caseload to 1,725,357.

Selangor reported a lower number of cases today with 3,567 infections compared with 4,591 yesterday. However, it continued to lead the daily tally.

Four other states reported more than 2,000 cases. The states were Sabah (2,310), Johor (2,265), Sarawak (2,028) and Kedah (2,084).

Other states and federal territories that reported new cases were Kuala Lumpur (672), Negri Sembilan (269), Penang (1,780), Kelantan (1,308), Perak (1,144), Malacca (395), Pahang (788), Terengganu (544), Putrajaya (41) and Perlis (71).

Labuan reported the fewest number of cases with just two new infections.

Meanwhile, more than 14.6 million or 62.6% of the adult population have been inoculated with a Covid-19 vaccine after 302,804 shots were dispensed yesterday.

Malaysia has delivered more than 34 million jabs since February and of the total, 19.3 million or 82.8% were first doses. – August 30, 2021.
