PERIKATAN Nasional component party leaders have arrived at Perdana Putra in Putrajaya to attend a special meeting on the request of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. 

PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan was seen entering the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) at 3.40pm to attend the meeting.

Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin arrived at 3.45pm, followed by MCA president Wee Ka Siong at 4.40pm. 

Also seen was Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg entering PMO after 4.40pm. 

It is not known what the agenda of the meeting is.

The Malaysian Insight has earlier reported that Muhyiddin will not resign but plans to request an earlier confidence vote that could be held next week, political party sources said. 

One source told The Malaysian Insight that there are plans for the confidence vote to be held at a special Parliament meeting, to be called on August 18. – August 11, 2021.
